There’s a place for discipline

Discipline played a much needed role in my realism art but it delivered for me the joy only in a product’s final existence – much like the Olympics where the goal is the end result. I found it grueling to begin a new piece. As I found a new place to exist in myself, I found the stress of my previous practice no longer resonating. My new discipline is to let go of control and this is no easy thing for the perfectionist. It, however, is worth every moment in which I thrive and thoroughly enjoy!
